What is an astrology reading?

An astrology reading is an interpretation of the planets at the time you were born (your natal chart), and how the transiting planets are influencing you now (current transits).
Depending on the reading you book, we'll cover things like:
How you show up in the world, and strategies for managing everyday life: communication, relationships, stress, leisure, and initiative
Time periods for opportunity and effort, usually covering approximately two years
How your chart connects with another person's: lovers, friends, colleagues, family, or foes
We can be as specific or as general as you'd like. Let's see where the planets take us.
How often should I get one?

I recommend one or two readings a year, with follow-up questions as needed.
Of course, you’re welcome to come as often as you’d like — I’d love to see you.
Do I need to know my exact birth time?

It's really helpful to know your exact birth time. If you don't, we can still discuss general timing and personality traits — we just won't be able to pinpoint which areas of your life are most influenced (e.g. career, family, relationships, creativity).

But that's not what astrology is about. Astrology is a technical study of the planets and how they interact — specifically, planetary placements on a 360-degree wheel and how those degrees relate to one another. For example, squares (90°) are a time for action or pressure, trines (120°) are a time for opportunity, and oppositions (180°) are a time to look in the mirror and ask if we're happy with what we see.
These planetary interactions, combined with the archetypes of the planets and the themes of the 12 houses in your chart, paint a picture of which areas of your life are highlighted and for how long.
All of this makes for an astrology reading — though I likely can't tell you what color hair your future lover will have.
I will say that I often 'click into' a chart and use my intuition to tell a story that resonates with my clients. It's not required for astrology, but when it happens, it's always fun.
